B&B University College Limited Tutor Development Workshop

Theme: Enhancing Teaching Effectiveness

B&B University College organized a very informative and insightful workshop on October 10, 2012 at its head office located on 15 Carlton Crescent Kingston 10. The evening’s discussion focused on three presentations made by experienced and astute teaching professionals who shared a wealth of knowledge.

Mrs. Judith Haldane spoke about “Pedagogy in an Evolving Leaning Environment”. She stressed the importance of supporting the learning environments with sound instructions and proper teaching practices aimed at developing the complete student.

Dr. Carmel Roofe-Brown spoke on the importance of “Challenging Students to think critically and analytically”. Her mission was to dissect the issues relating to critical thinking and provide well reasoned solutions and recommendations to educators grappling with the problem of stimulating the minds of students to think analytically.

Dr. Judith Orogun gave the final presentation on “Dealing with the Multicultural Aspects of Teaching and learning”. She explored issues relating to the intercultural mix of students studying in Jamaican universities. Her presentation addressed issues relating to cultural integration and acceptance.
