MBA with a Specialism in Strategic Planning focuses on the management actions that lead to the growth and development of an organization and involves objective setting, analysing competitive positioning, choosing a strategy, implementing it and adapting to feedback over time. To obtain this MBA you must pass eleven courses. Students may choose any combination of courses at any time. As such, it is possible to do as little as one and as much as six (the maximum allowable) courses in any one year.
Exemptions can be offered for courses based on the submission to EBS of the tertiary-level qualifications held and an assessment by that body.

Strategic Management Specialisations: Strategic Risk Management; Competitive Strategy; Making Strategies Work; Mergers & Acquisitions
The normal entry requirement is an undergraduate degree from a recognized institution. Persons without a degree may begin the programme, but will not be formally accepted/matriculated until they pass the examinations in three courses (including one core course).
Holders of a specific undergraduate degree may be eligible for one exemption if the focus of their degree is in the area of a core course (eg: persons with a BSc Economics are exempted from Economics, but persons with a BSc Management Studies do not receive any exemptions. There is a maximum of two exemptions for relevant professional qualifications. Credit transfers are also available.
Key Programme Dates
There are two class periods for the programme each year – January to May and July to November. The respective registration deadlines are November 30 and May 30. Examinations are held in June and December.
Classes are held on Saturdays between 9:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M.
Accreditation and Future Progression
The EBS MBA with a Specialism in Strategic Planning is accredited internationally through the Royal Charter of Heriot-Watt University. The Royal Charter is the official recognition granted to universities in the UK. To maintain this award, the systems of HWU are assessed and approved periodically by the Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education (http://www.qaa.ac.uk/) the national regulator of standards and quality in higher education in the UK. EBS is also recognized as a Higher Education provider by the US Department of Education.
Careers after this programme
Graduates of the EBS MBA with a Specialism in Strategic Planning can position themselves to move to a senior management position in varied types of organizations. Graduates may also decide to use the skills learnt to establish a successful business and consultancy.
Students do not have to wait to complete the entire programme before they can be recognized for their accomplishments. Passes in 3 courses including at least one core lead to the award of a Postgraduate Certificate in Strategic Management. Passes in 6 courses including at least one core lead to a Postgraduate Diploma in Strategic Management.
The total time taken may vary from one year to seven years. As mentioned, students must complete nine courses but may choose any combination of courses to sit at any examination diet. As such, it is possible to do as little as one and as much as six (the maximum allowable) courses in any one year. The number of exemptions granted also affects the time to complete the programme.
